Babilonia
About This Spot
Stepping into Babilonia feels like uncovering a quiet gem nestled in the heart of Dénia’s historic quarter. Tucked away on Carrer dels Cavallers, this restaurant embraces a gentle, unhurried rhythm where the hum of local life meets the relaxed comfort of an inviting courtyard. The mood here is warm and intimate — a place to settle in, share stories, and linger over thoughtfully prepared meals without feeling rushed.
The space itself seems to breathe a welcoming spirit, subtly blending rustic charm with touches of modern simplicity. Whether you find yourself on the sun-dappled terrace or tucked in near soft candlelight, Babilonia manages to evoke the feeling of a hidden retreat within the town’s vibrant streets. There’s a softness to the atmosphere, one that invites both casual visits and moments worth savoring.
Arriving hungry, guests quickly discover a menu that reads like a collection of global influences, seasoned with local personality and a dash of playfulness. The culinary journey here doesn’t shout – it whispers. Plates arrive with balance and care, offering unexpected combinations that invite exploration. From the rich warmth of house-baked bread shared at the table to the surprising harmony of flavors like coconut cream mingling with fresh mussels, or the tender comfort found in Galician beef burgers and slow-roasted chicken, each dish feels crafted to enrich the experience rather than overwhelm it.
Complementing the food, the service moves at a gentle pace, attentive without haste, allowing time for conversation and enjoyment. The staff’s genuine friendliness quietly threads through the meal, echoing the local warmth that makes Babilonia more than just another stop on the map.
In all, Babilonia is a place for those who appreciate a sense of place made visible through tastes and textures — where a shared cheesecake becomes a small celebration, and a simple croqueta tells a story of tradition with a contemporary twist. It’s not about grand gestures but rather those quiet, human moments that make evenings here quietly memorable.

We looked around the castle and then decided to sit down for a while. The courtyard is wonderful, the dishes are delicious. We had to wait a little, but the quality of the food paid off. The tuna tartare is fastastic, and the cheesecake is unreal. My husband loves cheesecakes, so we have tasted a lot, but this one is amazing. I highly recommend trying it

I recently dined here and had a pleasant experience. We started with a variety of appetizers—carrots with cheese for myself, while others had the nachos and mussels. All were nicely prepared and enjoyable. For the main course, we tried the hamburgers, teriyaki salmon, and the catch of the day. The dishes were well-executed and tasted good, with decent portions that left us satisfied. The service was friendly and efficient, contributing to a comfortable dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy, and its location in the heart of Denia adds to its charm. Overall, it was a nice meal in a welcoming setting. A good spot if you're in Denia and looking for a reliable place to eat.

We had been looking forward to trying this place but unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. The decor and surroundings are lovely and the outside terrace is a great space. The staff and service were good and the dishes on the menu sound amazing, looked when they arrived but we were disappointed with the taste... which was quite bland for us and lacking flavour. With so many amazing restaurants in Denia we wouldn't rush back.

Spanish boutique restaurant, with a lovely courtyard and a great range of traditional style tapas lunch fused with modern fresh tastes. A brief tasty wine list, with local wines for good prices. My teenage kids ate everything and tried every course - that's a win. Try the Aubergines roasted with Honey!

We went there for a few tapas. Excellent food, loved the padrón peppers! Great service. Give it a try! Relaxing atmosphere. Secluded area which was really enjoyable

The tapas selection offered here is nothing short of spectacular. We had a family style dinner while watching the sun set from their beautiful back patio. Their salads are super fresh and the tuna tata was a table favorite ;)). However, there is one caveat to dining outside—the heat (Of course)! As summer temperatures soar, the al fresco dining can become quite sweltering. With little to no airflow, the courtyard was hot and beautiful ¡Buen provecho!
